GBF Youth Ministry
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil.”
At Grace Bible Fellowship, youth ministry is an integral part of the church body. Our desire is to see students grow in knowledge and truth through consistent fellowship and a foundation built on biblical truths.
We meet Sunday mornings at 9:30am for fellowship, teaching from God’s Word, and small groups. Our theme for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year is ‘Spiritual Leadership.’ In the fall semester we finished J. Oswald Chambers's book on spiritual leadership and focused on how we can make a greater impact for Christ in the leadership opportunities God has entrusted to us. We just finished a series on Hermeneutics in which we discussed how to observe, interpret and apply Scripture to our lives, and will be spending the spring semester surveying the entire New Testament. In the summer, we will have our annual series on Theology in attempt to equip each student with knowledge of the core doctrines presented in Scripture.
The GBF youth group comes together for various special events throughout the year. Past social events have included days at the beach, trips to SF, Sky High, Bowling, Scavenger Hunts, etc. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other better and to invite friends to join in the fun! For a schedule of upcoming youth events, visit the calendar on the GBF website.
Anchor is the name of our youth group gathering. It is a great opportunity for fellowship and building relationships within the group. During the spring semester each meeting will focus on a specific passage of Scripture from the assigned NT reading in order to provide each student with an in-depth look into it's direct context and meaning.
Currently, our youth group serves together at Parents Night Out – a quarterly event where parents can drop off their children and spend an evening together while childcare is provided for free. We are currently looking for an organization outside of GBF to begin a service relationship with.
High School Ministry Outreach
Throughout the week, GBF has a presence at local high schools during the lunch hour for the purpose of building relationships with students. Currently, we partner with BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) at Fremont High School on a weekly basis, and attend The King's Academy and Homestead High School on occasion.
